Author Bernadette PoltzBernadette Poltz is a retired Canadian teacher and translator who dedicated her life to teach languages, especially French. She graduated from National Ballet School in Poland and has a Master of Arts degree in Roman Philology and a Bachelor's degree in Education. She studied foreign languages in Europe and Central America, and is fluent in four of them. Bernadette Poltz taught French in various programs for all audiences, ranging from adults to small children. She continues to pursue her proficiency in Spanish, and is an aspiring watercolor artist and author of books for children. A Robin’s Nest in a Fish-Tail Palm Tree? will be soon followed by a hilarious story of a duck named El Pato and its adventures in Antigua on a Chicken Bus. |
Illustrator Víctor Hugo ValenzuelaVíctor Hugo Valenzuela was born in La Antigua Guatemala, in 1953. He was a painter of landscapes, abstract, experimental, and oneric art. He employed different mediums in his paintings, including watercolors, acrylics, oils, pencil, ink, pastels, and mixed media. Víctor Hugo studied at the National School of Plastic Arts of Guatemala, under the Spanish maestro José Mass, and at the University of San Carlos, where he obtained a degree in visual arts. He has participated in over 50 individual and 200 collective exhibits, and has been awarded several prizes at national and international level. He was a professor at the Escuela Superior de Arte, of the University of San Carlos in Guatemala. Víctor Hugo Valenzuela died on March 1st, 2018 in a car accident. We will miss him tremendously.
